614Volunteer ("we," "us") connects volunteers in Central Ohio with local organizations that need help. This page explains what information we collect, why, and who can see it.
When you sign up for a shift as a volunteer, we collect the name, email, phone number (optional), and any note you choose to add. No account or password is required to sign up for a shift.
When an organization creates a business account, we collect the organization name, an email address, and a password. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider (Supabase) — we never see or store them in plain text.
Your signup information is shared only with the specific organization whose shift you signed up for, so they can plan for your arrival and follow up if needed. Our database enforces this with row-level security rules: an organization can only ever query signups tied to its own listings, not anyone else's.
We rely on a small number of outside services to run the site, and each sees only what it needs to do its job:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Business accounts use a small amount of browser storage to keep you signed in between visits. Volunteers signing up for a shift do not need an account and nothing is stored on your device to identify you.
You can ask us to show you what information we have on file, or to delete it, at any time — see the Contact page. Organizations can also directly edit or delete their own listings and review or remove the volunteer signups tied to them from their dashboard.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
